I believe in the crucial importance of a strong, unified university communications education.

With the power that communications brings comes a responsibility to use it with intention.  One of my favorite subjects is the current state of public relations tactics and how they are used - whether it be managing a crisis for a law enforcement agency, or how to maintain sensitivity when communicating amongst issues of diversity.

Additionally, communications is not limited to the spoken (or written) word.  Branding is the ability to make a public feel what you are also saying. Understanding the complexity of branding and the intersection it has with PR is something I love to discuss.

I guest lecture for university public relations courses, and am a frequent speaker for the Public Relations Society of America.

Thought leadership topics include:

  • Media and public affairs management
  • Branding and public relations as an integrated practice
  • Public Relations ethics and law
  • Professional development for the public relations young professional
